After few days of dance classes, I realised my spatial awareness and, most importantly, my hand to eye coordination were gone. GONE. Bye Felicia!
Which meant one thing, Mother Nature’s call was round the corner. Now, if you have been my 1:1 client, you’ll probably know I tent to ask you if you feel comfortable talking about your period with me, and here is why.
Our bodies go through 4 phases, during a menstrual cycle:
1. Menstrual phase. That’s your period.
2. Follicular phase. The days of bliss when you feel like a goddess.
3. Ovulation phase. Your body wants to make babies, so it makes you frisky. *wink wink*
4. Luteal phase. The days when every time you look at yourself in the mirror, you see Thing from Avengers.
These are 4 different people.
Phase 1 person will have different ability and results than phase 2 person.
I am telling you this for two reasons: firstly, like you shouldn’t compare yourself to others, you shouldn’t compare the ability, strength or weight of the person that you are at different stages of your cycle.
I only weigh myself on the first few days of phase 1, because my hormones are at their most balanced and that’s where I generally feel at my best.
Secondly, communication is key. You need to keep talking to me. As your coach, it’s my duty to work with you in the best way that gets you results.
If I have planned a beast mode session for you, and you don’t have the energy or focus on the day, only you can tell me that you are not up for it and why.
It’s your training, and it’s all about your progress.
You are the priority. So, talk to me. It’s all about what I can do for you!
